Ann Delpha

Ann Delpha is a Staff Attorney and Adjunct Professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law.  She has a background in innocence work and wrongful convictions, and brings that lens to her work and teaching on the intersection of legal issues and mental disabilities, with a specific focus on people with intellectual disability and their interactions with the justice system.  Alongside Jim Ellis, she provides pro-bono representation to The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and The Arc in amicus briefs in the United States Supreme Court, most recently Hall v. Florida (2014), and Moore v. Texas (2017).  She is also a co-author, with Jim Ellis and Caroline Everington, on a publication on best clinical practices in intellectual disability evaluations in capital cases: “Evaluating Intellectual Disability: Clinical Assessments in Atkins Cases”.
